The work of the headteacher is fantastic, captivating, and unique and it is definitely not for everyone. The school, the pedagogical staff, the parents and, most importantly, the children themselves deserve to be run by an exceptional person with and the best qualification.
The headteacher should be able to navigate through pedagogical ideas, new concepts and teaching methods. Only then, can they be capable of creating suitable working conditions for the teaching staff and the students; only then can they make decisions and, jointly with their team, evaluate which alternative path should be supported or, eventually, which one they will not purposefully realise in the school they manage.
Lots of theories have been founded; books about management have been written. We have made an attempt to select such key topics and practical exercises that may on the one hand assist the newly-assigned headteacher with forming an objective picture, while on the other, may make the experienced headteacher consider and improve their work.
